The Grand Republic was founded by Prince Elector Ivan von Drexler, a populist with dreams of conquest, who sought to ignite the tensions between the four republics that had been brewing for a hundred years, largely spurred on by Drexler's father, Rudolph. After conquering the three neighboring republics of Westphal, Lombregh, and Freesian. His actions were denounced by the Empire, but Drexler paid them no mind.
