Utrajalek

General Belief

The Utrajalek believe in a stable, orderly society as taught by a group of Divine Messengers in the city of Entani. The foundation of this is the understanding that there are different focuses for a society, based on their traditions and needs, each being represented by a different Messenger.   Utrajal
The leading Messenger, teaching order, social structures, and administration   Knetrea
Messenger of wisdom through knowledge.   Tavens
Messenger of science and technology   Jugala
Messenger of farming and agriculture   Netara
Messenger of trade and diplomacy   Negado
Messenger of building and engineering   Kerat
Messenger of safety and security   Belura
Messenger of health and wellness   Merkalacek
Messenger of labor

Practices

Utrajalek practices highly ritualize routine activities, granting even the most mundane tasks religious significance. Each day is led in a precisely directed order depending upon one's trade. Of paramount importance is cleanliness and order. Areas for sleeping, food preparation, and bathrooms are cleaned daily, with the entire home being cleaned once a week. Work areas are similarly to be cleaned and organized at the end of every day. Everything is designed to make life clean, undistracted, and efficient.

Education

All children are exposed to every career path during their basic education. Once they are able to choose one which they either have an affinity for or one they wish to pursue, they are considered a follower of that specific Messenger. At any time they may go to the relevant temple to pass an examination and become an "accepted," at which point they will be allowed to operate their own business.

Temples and Shrines

Utrajalek temples and shrines are extremely utilitarian and not intended for worship as humans would understand it. The temple of each Messenger contains knowledge or equpment specific to that Messenger. All Utrajalek hospitals are Temples of Belura, police stations and military bases are Temples of Kerat, etc. The sole exception to this is Entani Temple, which is devoted to all nine Messengers.

Organization

The Utrajalek are led by a council of High Priests, each representing one of the Messengers. Beneath them are the Temple Priests, typically only one per temple. Priests are also responsible for the training of acolytes, and acolytes are generally tasked with overseeing shrines. The training of novices is overseen by the acolytes, and a priest will rarely, if ever intervene in their training. Priests, acolytes, and novices all live within the temples or shrines, and devote themselves to the building's maintenance and the study of the contents.
