Imperial Titles

The evolution of imperial titles would follow the standard formula of most decadent imperial societies, including increasingly grandiose names and titles as each succeeding emperor tried to inflate their image. Until Emperor Rauschning, only the Convention of Houses could add to or alter the imperial title. Similarly, from Gerard III until Theodosius IV, emperors could add to their official name at the time of their coronation with the approval of the Convention of Houses. In the case of Constantius, he was preoccupied with the Monsos War and did not realize the name the Convention of Houses was giving him until it was read at his coronation.
  From Alexander III onward, the imperial title would be altered automatically after the death of the emperor to include “Prince of Heaven.” Constantius would have his title altered posthumously in 2353 with the use of “Lord of the Heavens,” and the inclusion of the epithet “the Golden Emperor,” as well as his titles of Princeps and Hilt.
