Faipari
Faipari has the strongest military in Cerul. They were also the ones that resisted the crystams the longest. However, this was only by retreating into their strongholds. They only joined the Crystam Federation because they wanted to have access to trade to them.
Faipari has the Great Wood, and with it most of the world's wood. They use this to their advantage, and are one of the richest countries, after Reith. However, they rely heavily on the crystals that the crystams provide. They use them to speed up the growth of trees, so that their lumber can keep up with the world's demand.
One of the ways they are able to keep gaining crystals is by supplying the wood to repair the Great Bridges. The initial set they got was paid for by the lumber used to build the Great Bridges.
Their government is ruled by the Board of Merchants. The most successful merchants are put in office. Every year, there is a tally of the sales that all the merchants made that year. The top seven are put in office for a year. However, they are not allowed to sell any goods. They can put their business in the hands of another, but they cannot be in office for more than one year at a time. This ensures that a wide variety of merchants can make decisions. For each law made, there needs to be a majority vote.
