The Pantheon

The Pantheon is formed of six divine beings, each representing different elements that make up the world: earth, air, water, fire, star, and soul. This is the most popular religion in the world by a long shot, and it is common to see temples or places of worship around towns and cities.

Divine Origins

Many of the beliefs of this religion stem from the different kinds of elementals, who have innate magic capabilities and are seen as sacred to the Pantheon. Initially, people worshipped the elementals themselves, but as societies developed many people began to see the creatures as merely representatives or stand-ins for greater powers—they felt like the elementals were too basic and unintelligent to be the highest power available.

Sects

There are some groups that choose to worship one god over the others, or who still recognize the elementals themselves as divine. Although it is common to have different places of worship for each god, and perhaps to pray to one more than another, respecting only one god as the ultimate power is seen as strange and unbalanced, and the people who choose to do this are often shunned. Worshipping the elementals themselves is seen as more old-school, out of the ordinary but understandable.
