Nimrot

It all began with an angry dragon. Furiously frustrated at his lair being robbed whenever he stepped out to do dragony things, he created the very first mimickyn, the wonderous Box King, Nimrot.   Clever beyond even dragon expectations, Nimrot discovered the dragon's secret notes on mimickyn creation. After a few years of chewing over the complex notes, He figured out how it all worked.   By the time the dragon returned, his most precious horde was guarded by a new horde of mimickyn he did not have to spend time making. This was the dawn of us!
~42 of Sunkhole, Mimickyn Sage
Nimrot, who is said to still reside in Mimickyn First Home, is heralded as the father of all mimickyn. Not only has he created more of them than their great dragon creator, he also taught the magical procreation to other mimickyn. Now all mimickyn know how to procreate, turning from a constructed magical trap into a species.   Creating more of his kind was not enough for Nimrot. He encouraged all mimickyn to study the treasures they guarded as well as whatever things the tasty thieves carried. It was a strange way to learn, but it worked. Over time, this learning led to a great curiosity. With his mimickyns growing in number, he encouraged them to go out into the world to learn, to lair, and eat more thieves.   And they did. Now, any dungeon could be the home of newly settled mimickyn. Some have even learned to mingle with the other folks of the world. They have even become adventurers. There are even rebellious mimickyn who not only tolerate rogues but have taken up their ways!
Nimrot Facts
Not even Nimrot knows how long a mimickyn can live, as he is the first and swears he does not feel old.   Over his long life, which has thus far spanned 400 years, he has made some fascinating discoveries, one of which is how tasty thieves are with mustard.   Nimrot was the first to discover how to chew thieves so that their items went into his containment "stomach", while the rest went down his gullet to be digested.

I love that he has created others of his kind and has taught them how to make more.
