Lady Of Flowers

Early Years
The Lady of Flowers was born Fleur-Bey-Rah as one of three in a litter to a Sourry mother and a Timukua father, making her an Engi among the Gheni folk. Her mother, Sayrah-Bey-Del, was a barmaid while her father, Flyn-Ra-Nyr, was a talented thief who once came by every 2-5 months to provide for his litter. Being a thief, he never could stay in one place for long and returning to the same place was risky but he was a father now.   Sayrah rarely spoke of him so he could continue to provide for them. To her children, she kept him a secret until they were old enough to understand the need for secrecy. Once they were old enough, Fleur became fascinated with their father and wished to follow in his footsteps. At first, both parents tried to discourage her, but she was so determined that Flyn gave in and began teaching her his thieving ways... a secret they kept from her mother.
Adventuous Years
By the time she was grown, Fleur was very skilled and ready to join her father. She said good-bye to her mother and littermates, saying she was ready to go out and make her way in the world. Her mother made her promise she would return for visits or at the very least send home letters now and again, something that she has adhered to all these years.   When Fleur left home and joined her father, her training became very real as she she was now getting involved in his escapades. Over the years, they did quite well until her father was betrayed by a fence. In order to save himself from being hanged, the fence continued to run his business so the authorities could haul in the thieves who came in.   Flyn was not so easily taken, though, and he did escape them long enough to warn Fleur. Cornered on the docks of Seabridge, he turned to face those authorities and fought to the death. It was a fight witnessed by many as he defied being arrested to his last breath and became a legend. Fleur, too, watched her father fall, her heart breaking as she knew he had chosen death for her.
Presently...
Never would she let his sacrifice for her be in vain. She took all they had earned and bought the Door Stop, turning it into a teahouse and flower shop. Still, thievery was still in her heart. Instead of riches and jewels, she decided to steal... information. Then, when she managed to learn of something big going down, and sold the information to a well-paying thug leader, her reputation as secrets dealer grew. Over the years, she established a network of spies who brought her overheard secrets and witnessed happenings. Her cellar has since been turned into a speak-easy tavern, an exclusive place for gambling, under the table dealings, and the purchasing of secrets.   Then, one night, when her minions dealt with a difficult fellow in her flower garden, her dragonsnap flowers began to change. Each of these flowers developed a caustic dragon breath. Their seeds, when planted, grew into flowers with the very same dragon breath. The seeds of these terrible flowers began to be highly valued, something she quickly turned into a sinister profit, further turning her title of Lady of Flowers into a living legend in the underbelly of the City of Brass.
