Jubilee

"Welcome to Jubilee. Our town may be small, but we are renowned for the finest of sea tournaments, our Annual Shark-Hunting tournament," a dockmaster said as he greeted passengers stepping off the ship Wavecrusher.   "Hey, Bartol," a dockhand shouted, "don't forget to tell 'em 'bout Ja-Kai Paradise! Best drink t' ever be drunk!"   Grumbling under his breath, the dockmaster gave the passengers an even bigger smile and waved towards the land end of the dock.   "Yes, Jubi's Paradise is as renowned as our tournament. Come, let me get you all on your way to your bungalows."

  Jubilee is a human seaport town on the eastern shore of the Haven Sea. It is a town of two parts: the main town on shore and a tiny island just offshore. A bridge, some fifty feet long, connects the two. The island holds the town's main port and guest bungalows. The weather is always warm, no matter the season, while the rugged hills are too sparse to support large and dangerous creatures. They do, however, support thornberries, which produce a wonderful juice that is used in the renowned drink Jubi's Paradise. It's a favorite place for merchants and the well-to-do to enjoy themselves.     Jubilee's citizens live on the mainland part of the town and spend their evenings on the island at Dirk's Tiki Tavern. Dirk's is more than just an outdoor tavern; it has a roofed-over barbecue pit and grill where the catches of the day can be cooked. With no cellar, Dirk's has a sturdy-built storehouse to keep its various spirits safely locked away.   Jubilee is ruled by an elder chosen by all its senior citizens to see to affairs that affect the whole town. Any troubles or other business is to be settled by those involved. When pirates or the sea-devils come calling, it is up to the stout-hearted citizens and shark-hunters to defend the town.
