Door Stop

Origin
The Door Stop was one of the first stone buildings erected in the town of Seabridge that has since become a district to the City of Brass. It started as a tavern then became a teahouse, a script shop, and a flower shop. When it was a flower shop, the owner at that time planted a flower garden and set up a plant nursery. This expansion was continued when the current owner attained the building.   No matter who has owned it or which ever purpose it has served, the name has never changed. Storms rushing in from the sea tend to destroy docks, piers, and wooden buildings but stone prevails. Stone buildings in Seabridge hove stood against these storms since their first days, providing a feeling of permenency even in the face of trajedy. Because of this, the citizens of Seabridge have taken to keeping the name of a building no matter how hands its has passed through. This tradition runs so deep in their hearts. Even as the City of Brass grew to encompass Seabridge as a mere disctrict, the tradition still holds.
Present Day
For the past twelve years, it has been owned by the Lady of Flowers, Fleur-Bey-Rah who is a sharp-minded Gheni. Nothing underhanded happens in the Zinkville or Seabridge districts without her consent. She also tends to know of nefarious happenings going on in the rest of the city. This information she will share for a price and it always comes with strings.   The Lady of Flowers runs the Door Stop as both a tea house and flower shop. It is hear the spouses of the movers and the shakers in Seabridge come to gossip, something she encourages and keeps notes on. With these notes, she knows where, or who, to look into to maintain her control of the seedier side of Seabridge.   At night, the Lady of Flowers opens her cellar as a late night gambling den where customers are allowed in only by invitation. This is also the main hall for the gang of thieves and thugs devoted to her when they aren't busy enforcing her control or carrying out her schemes and illicit ventures. Her cellar is also a place to purchase information on the backstreet dealings that might be going on in the other districts of the city.
While the Lady of Flowers most common and some uncommon teas, which are what most of her customers can afford as Seabridge is far from a wealthy district.   It is her flowers that bring in a healthy profit though not from the typical flowers she sells.   It's the seeds of her precious and very rare Dragonbreath Dragonsnaps which make great deterants to those who try to sneak about in places they should not be that those in much wealthier districts willingly pay a high price to get.
