Common Myths and Legends
Initially discovered when a Bedouin opened an odd-looking tumbleweed that didn't move in the wind. When it was pried open, the contents were completely spoiled and rotted, but they were of seeds, flowers, and vegetation that normally would not have been found unless it had rained in the last day or so. Over time other travelers had spoken of these strange tumbleweeds and finding the same condition to the items; however, one individual told a story of opening one and finding a small faerie in it. Supposedly the faerie screamed at him tried to bite him, flew away, and every bit of food, leather, and basically anything organic instantly started to rot. By the time he was found by a group of Bedouins, he was completely naked, hungry, and very sunburnt.
Another story tells of a mage seeking out a rare herb and finding one of these; he attempted all forms of magic to try and ascertain what was inside. All he could discover was that it was, in fact, magical but could not tell its contents. He decided to try and open it, but hearing the stories of items being destroyed, he decided to strip himself bare of all items and clothing and proceeded to pry it open. Much to his surprise, he found several flowers, a handful of seeds, a few leather strips, highly polished stones, a copper coin, and a small diamond, all well preserved. However, the organic items slowly started to fade or rot after a few hours, but the gem and coin seemed to be unaffected; supposedly, the gem was worth over 1000 platinum pieces.
There are those that believe they are a creation by Aziz al Tha'Hal and should be left alone.
