As the citizens line the streets and alley ways these path is not cleaned or cleared and the monarch is not allow to avoid or walk around any muck, mess, or mud in the path. They must do this as one continuous journey, without stops or breaks. They are not allowed food or water, as this signifies the new monarch meeting every citizen and knowing every road in the city and walking the same streets as the average person and knowing a full day or days of constant work. The monarchs journey ends in the city's central courtyard at the 50' tall ancient bedrock obelisk, where they walk around it counterclockwise equal to the number of previous monarchs with a hand on its base and then walk around it clockwise twice. This is believed when walking around it counter it bestows the wisdom of all of the previous kings and queens, the clockwise walk imbues the current monarchs with strength and long life.
