Orc Mastiff
These massive canines are bred specifically for beasts of burden and are known for their devotion to their imprinted owners. They are not removed from their mother until they have been selected by a 'parent' and then they match the smell and sight of their parent making an immovable bond between them.
The dog is then permanently 'attached' to their parent, through all travels and all adversity. These animals are considered by some as, just small horses, but they can carry their weight in packs making them great for long-distance travel with gear and food. They are tireless and are as sure-footed as any mule.
If their parent dies from natural causes they will stay with the body for as long as they have strength and breath, at which time they will inevitably die at their parents side. It is not uncommon to find the bones of a dog lying next to or even on top of their parent's bones.

These dogs are single-minded in their devotion to their imprinted 'parent' to the point they will either plant themselves in one spot, until either their owner gives the command to move or will simply just walk away in the direction of their owner.
If they are forcibly moved they will either attempt to bite the one trying to move them or they will simply lay flat on the ground making themselves as immobile as possible.
Newborns are never handled directly but with either large tongs or boiled leather gloves to not imprint a 'parent smell' on the new pup.
