Looking for Work

Strapped for cash, Malen posted that he was looking for jobs to do and to meet at the tavern. Jareith, Kirren, and Gulop showed up also looking for work while several townsfolk came looking for workers during a shortage of them.

Overwhelmed by the onslaught of job offers, the adventurers jotted down some notes and followed a little girl to rescue her cat from a tree. Nearing the tree they noticed it wasn't just an ordinary cat but had 6 paws and they even thought they heard it speak. With some quick thinking and a giraffe for a ladder, they were able to rescue it unharmed.

Following another lead they went at met an elf Zaos who offerred them a job. Discretion required. Swearing to secrecy, he told them he was in search of some run-away experiments that were very valuable: a six-legged cat, a pig that could fly, and two special goats. Gulop left, not willing to return animals to those who would torture them and went to talk to some guards about what he may or may not have seen.

The rest of the party let slip that they had seen the mysterious cat adopted by a little girl in town but didn't know where they had gone, instead taking the job to find the animals and bring them back to their master. Malen made the decision to keep an eye open for the creatures while completing the more mundane tasks given by the townspeople. Discovering goats terrorizing a farmer, they quickly realized two of them were special but struck a deal to bring them all to a safe place to a friend that likes goats instead of back to their tormentors. Choosing to go hunting for meat instead of locating a flying pig or helping a woman out of her misery, they hunted in the mountains finding goats and a ram that put up a fight, the party eventually prevailed providing for more of the local favorites. Taking their rewards, most of the party set off to Trader's Cusp.
