Far From Home

General Summary

Prim had finally narrowed down where her friend's soul had ended up. Pulling together a group of willing adventurers and Rico, an actual friend of Magnolia's, she headed into the feywild to retrieve her. They met a rather strange fellow upon arrival, who Milo managed to entertain, and so he agreed to help the group find their way to a dark forest and a darker mountain within that would supposedly allow them to find their friend. A thin mist hung heavy within the forest, reflecting the lights of creatures dancing around them. Before they knew it, a pack of will o' wisps and banelights had descended upon them. A brutal battle ensued, leaving the party heavily injured but alive, and the sparkling fey dimmed and dead on the ground around them.

Eventually, the party made it to the mountain that promised to transport them to the place they most desired, assuming they were able to solve its riddle. It took some time, but soon they were able to solve the riddle of the mountain and step through its portal, which took them each where they individually desired. Nightfall ended up on a plane that was left unidentified but appeared to be heavily influenced by her goddess, Shar. In the darkness Nightfall took the chance to do some experimentation. Using the minds of the dying unknowns around her in an informative but ultimately unsuccessful attempt at manifesting herself as a nightmare. Milo found himself standing on the unimprisoned side of a set of cells. Inside of which were disempowered red wizards. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity, Milo slaughtered two and scalped the third, sending him out of his cell and off running to spread the word of Milo's cruelty. Rico found himself out of the torturous feywild. Resting comfortably in his bed. His draconic companion soared lazily above a field of docile prey, which he chose not to partake in, as there was no one around to prepare the meat satisfactorily.

Prim found herself in a realm of pure darkness. Not simply a dark night as they had been journeying through, but a pure absence of light. It is here she was able to find Magnolia and convince her both that she was real and that she was here to help. But trying to go back the way she came, there was no portal. Separated from her magically inclined companions, there was no way for her to return. Before despair could make its way into her mind a presence appeared. A voice that seemed to rush through the very trees of this blackened forest. A voice Prim later learned belonged to the Queen of Air and Darkness. After a light scolding for invading her dominion, the queen promised to help Prim go home. In exchange for returning the Magic Valley to how it once was. Prim agreed, and so the queen modified the charmed bracelet Prim had been given after her first final decision about the Magic Valley. Returning it to its previous ability with a change in form. A change that now bound it to Prim's wrist. With it, Prim returned to the magic valley. And slowly her party all managed to regroup there after a day to recuperate. Magnolia's corruption was cured, and she was brought into the safety of the Magic Valley to rest.
