Longpids Subterre
This limestone cave in Florida was discovered by the Spanish in 1802. The limestone was more spongy than typical limestone and was filled with more saturated colors.
Rediscovered by Sofia Longpids and her husband Alceste

Geography
Located near Lake Apopka
The maw looks like a hole since the area is very flat and damp.
This is area is incredibly swampy, but the cave is always somewhat dry.
Ecosystem
There are few creature that are seen in this cave.
Localized Phenomena
Rainwater never seems to stay near the enterence around the maw.
Although outside of that the limestone generally behaves like normal limestone
Tourism
Spelunking is diffcult but in 1920 there was a attempt to spelunk past the odd entrance of the maw.
