Soothing Song

A concept used in many spells before, this spell combines the varying powers of compulsion, sleep, and control into a new way to calm raging barbarians and rampaging creatures alike. Targets a single creature. When cast at 4th level or above, duration increases.

Effect

The target must make a constitution saving throw vs the caster's spell dc.. On a failed save, the creature is soothed and becomes passive for the duration. On a successful save the creature is unaffected.

Side/Secondary Effects

When the creature fails its save, make a spell attack roll. On a success, the target is incapacitated for the duration. On a critical success, the target is unconscious for the duration. On a critical failure, the spells effect ends.   Death of the caster does not dispell this effect.

Manifestation

To those who can hear the music that is being used to deliver the enchantment, the music feels more fulfilling and feels like it is smooth as silk. To the target, it feels like a fond memory, and brings a feeling of nostalgia and comfort.

Developed by a Brightling bard, this spell was created to help people who were going through troubling times. The spell was modified and strengthened when its creator was met with terrible adversity.

Small bag of sand and a tuning fork.
