Drax’s Gift

The Origins: Drax's Gift and the Birth of Velana

Long ago, the divine Beasts Warden Drax watched over the natural world with sorrow. Two races the Vetheri and Syenvel ravaged the sacred lands, unaware of the pain they caused the wild beasts. To teach empathy and restore balance, Drax bestowed a sacred magic—Velena—upon chosen members of these peoples.

He selected two beasts embodying the wild’s fiercest qualities: the Lynra, a lynx of silent stealth and mist, and the Zoan, a scorpion fly of elusive flight and venomous power. Through Velana, Nimari druids bind their spirits to these beasts, transforming their forms and wielding their primal magic.

Soulweave: The Living Bond of Spirit and Beast

Velena is not mere shapeshifting; it is an ancient, sacred thread connecting druid and beast. Through a deliberate gesture and a talisman—often shaped like a claw or wing—the Nimari weave their souls with the essence of Lynra or Zoan. Their bodies ripple and shift, fur or chitin emerging as senses sharpen and magic flows.

The transformation is fluid, alive with misty veils or shimmering wings. To unweave the Velena is to release this bond gently, the wild form folding back into human flesh as naturally as dawn’s mist dissipates. The magics shown are foundation of the two forms but has evolved by Nimari.

Lynra — The Mistbound Stalker

Nimari become shadows of the forest:

Cloaked in the Veil of Mist, they blend with it nearly invisible and silent.

They strike with Phantom Pounce, vanishing into mist to reappear with deadly precision.

Their Ethereal Claws pierce magical defenses, striking at both flesh and spirit.

With Fog Sight, they see through darkness, illusions, and fog as if in daylight.

Zoan — The Voidwing Voyager

In Zoan form, Nimari take to the skies with wild grace:

Their Blink Flight lets them teleport short distances midair in shimmering bursts.

They dissolve into a Void Shroud, phasing through attacks though unable to strike while dispersed.

Summoning a Spectral Swarm, they command ghostly scorpion flies to scout or distract.

Their Venomous Mirage creates illusory copies to confuse foes with harmless stings.
