Traitor's temple

Unknown origin

In this ancient tomb is buried fallen paladin known as Morden the Terrible. Date or people responsible for foundation is not exactly known, most likely lost in history. However many researchers agree this was specifically built to guard great evil within and all wonderers outside.

Tunnel collapse

During Heraklion era there was some collapse of tunnels in areas above temple. These caused new openings into caves, which lead many adventurers into Underdark bellow. Unfortunately many travelers to Underdark ventured into Traitor's temple as well.

Ancient Guardians

Civilization, organization or group which is responsible for building temple kept some members behind to serve as ancient guardians for this wicked creature to be kept under watch. Among Guardians were mages, archers and warriors which signs that they weren't just some basic villagers or townsfolk.

Greed and Death

Many adventurers ventured into Temple, because they were tempted by Tear of the Golden Dragon - ancient weapon. But one group was unfortunately successful. Group of adventurers, where one of them was Grumm - Tortolan from Al-takar. He was tempted by the sword and stole it from Morden.   This event was noticed and marked in the Grand Book of Evil and Good deeds of people of Palanthira.

Aftermath

Grumm was consumed by the sword and followed path of Morden. However, there aren't any information about Morden's corpse, so many researchers think the dark magic from sword left him alongside with sword itself.
