Thul's Ancestry Armor
This plate armor is crafted in the deep forges of the duergar, infused with their ancestral resilience. While wearing it, you gain the following benefits:
- Resilience of the Duergar: You have resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- Invulnerability: Once per day, as an action, you can invoke the invulnerability of your duergar ancestors. For 1 minute, you become immune to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- Enhanced Protection: This armor grants a +3 bonus to AC.
- Stonebinder's Craft: As an action, you can cast Wall of Stone (spell save DC 17). You have advantage on concentration checks made to maintain this spell.
- Stoneform: Once per day, you can cast Stoneskin without expending a spell slot.
- Grim Endurance: If you are to suffer any Condition (stunned, paralyed, blinded etc.), you can use your reaction to avoid the condition. Instead, you gain 1 level of exhaustion, and your movement is halved for the duration of the condition that would have been applied. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
History
In the past times of Underdark, three legendary champions of Laduguer, the grim and vengeful god of the duergar, became known as the Laduguer's Bulls. These powerful duergar warlords were each entrusted with the sacred duty of expanding the reach of their people into the depths of the world. Of the three, one ventured deeper than any had before, into the treacherous Lowerdark, where light was but a forgotten myth and horrors unimaginable thrived.
One of duergar warlods led his followers to found a city in the heart of the Lowerdark, which they named Khardun. It was a bastion of duergar might, a fortified city hewn from the living rock, built upon the power of their god and their ancient crafts. Khardun prospered for decades, but its wealth and strategic location soon drew the covetous eyes of the dark elves whose hunger for power knew no bounds.
For decades, the dark elves ruled over Khardun, twisting its halls to suit their cruel desires. Yet, the duergar bided their time, waiting for the moment when they could strike back. That moment came with the arrival of a group of adventurers known as Eso Dies. This group, driven by both fortune and a desire to strike a blow against the dark elves, descended into the Lowerdark and forged an unlikely alliance with the enslaved duergar.
Together, Eso Dies and the duergar rose up against the drow. Fueled by hatred and vengeance, they unleashed a devastating assault that shattered the drow's hold on Khardun. The city was destroyed in the process.
Later on, this plate armor was connected to a helmet which was worn by Efreeti Prince of City of Brass.
