Scythe of the Dread Reaper

The Scythe of the Dread Reaper is a weapon of unimaginable power, bound to the very soul of its wielder. When bound, the spine of the user is symbolically represented atop the blade, fusing their essence with the weapon. The hilt is crafted from an amber-like material, formed from the innards of a magical treant found in the Shadowfell and molded while submerged in the River Styx. The blade itself is forged from a dark, otherwordly metal provided by Death, the natural force that governs the end of life in the multiverse.

• Scythe of Death. The Scythe is a +3 weapon and provides you with +3 DC and +3 spellcasting bonus. You can use your spellcasting ability for attack rolls.
• Reaping. When you hit a living creature with the Scythe, it takes extra 2d6 necrotic damage.
• Life Drain. When you slay a creature, you can spent amount of Hit Die equal to your proficiency bonus and restore hit points that way.
• Innate Spell. You can cast Circle of Death once per Long Rest without expending a spell slot.
• Aura of Death. You can use your bonus action to activate necrotic aura 5 feet around you. At the start of your turn, all living creatures within the aura take 5 necrotic damage. You can dismiss the aura as a free action on your turn.
• Reaper Form. You can connect yourself fully with the scythe, taking cloak of the death, and gaining following benefits for 1 minute:
  • You gain flying speed of 60 feet.
  • You can attack twice with the Scythe.
  • You critically strike on 18, 19 and 20 while using the Scythe.
  • Damage of the Scythe is necrotic, if a creature has immunity, you treat it as resistance instead for the melee scythe attacks.
  • If you slay a creature with the Scythe, you can as a reaction teleport to another creature you can see within 30 feet and make one melee weapon attack with Scythe.
  • You gain immunity to necrotic damage but vulnerability to radiant damage.

After you use Reaper Form, you cannot use it for another 3d4 days. If you do so, there is cumulative 25% chance that at the end, you will die and are no longer possible to be ressurected. You are aware of the incoming death right when you take the form. If that happens, your Reaper Form is enhanced by following changes:

• You can attack thrice with the Scythe.
• You critically strike on 15 and higher.
• You gain flying speed of 90 feet and ignore any magical or non-magical obstacles.
