The Sanguit Bow
The Sanguit Bow is an ancient and powerful artifact that is passed down to the linage of the Red King. The bow is the lifeline of the land and is used in the ceremony when crowning the next monarch. Most people see the bow as a symbol of power, but it holds great power that could destroy the kingdom in the wrong hands.
Because it is the land where a god descended, the kingdom land radiates great magic and is directly connected to the Dragon's will. If a monarch attempts to be crowned without the bow, they will burn as soon as the crown is placed on their head. The first king, the Red King made the bow to ensure the crown could not go to just anyone. It’s the kingdom’s failsafe.
The blood of the Red King, the kingdom, and the bow are linked and there can not exist without the others.
If the Sanguit bow is broken, the kingdom will die. Every plant and tree will shrivel until the kin of the Red King, the von Truass family, makes a new one and uses their blood to finish it. The bow even after decades of use, is not easily broken. Even if it were to be crushed by tons of rocks or dropped off a mountain, it would not snap. Only the intentional snap of the bow in the hands of a human will break the bow and the person has to have a complete conviction for it to succeed.
If the bow is snapped, people of a month period create a replacement before the kingdom begins to die. The last time it was snapped was with the last queen, Moira von Trauss. While she was still the crowned princess she snapped the bow to protect the kingdom and herself from her uncle. It took her three weeks to create the masterpiece that is now the Sanguit Bow.
After the creation of the bow and link with the monarch bloodline, the bow has been snapped only six times during 1453 years of history and with the religion being so greatly tied to the number seven, people await to see if the seventh time the bow is snapped will be the last. Some thing the bow can only be snapped seven times. Other's believe the seventh snap will mark the time the Red King will awaken. While others think the entire concept of the bow is pointless and just another way for nobility to cling to power.
