Solinlicht Cathedral

The Solinlicht Cathedral is located in the city of Likari. This cathedral is one of the largest buildings in the building and houses the most art and largest library in the kingdom. Although these two facts are well known and what makes it a popular traveling location for foreigners, the reason it is cherished is its ability to heal nearly any injury to anyone willing to sacrifice a small portion of their magic.    The priests who reside in the Solinlicht Cathedral have mastered magic used in ancient times to heal the sick and turn very few away when asked to help. Due to the price that must be paid to heal people, the Cathedral shuns those with little or no magic.    A priestess, who has long since passed away founded the practice in a small library near the edge of the city. As her deeds became more known, more people came to her for help. With those who asked for help came those who wished to learn from her, and those who wished to gain from her.   Over the years, the small library expanded, growing to fit the growing number of people who wished to learn her secrets. Even after her death, the library continued to expand to become the great Cathedral it is today and with each passing year, it continues to grow.    For all the good this building represents, the people of the city are slowly learning to resent it as more and more funding is taken from their pockets to funding the priests' extravagant lifestyles. They resent the Cathedral because all they can do is turn to their aid as they starve at the very hands they are begging to feed them. They hand over more and more of their money and power, knowing one day they will be too weak to be accepted.    The Solinlicht Cathedral may help people, but it slowly sucking all the life and power from Likari and once it has, the Cathedral's residents will have no other option than to expand their reach and find new areas to grow their power from.
