About: Lake X
A humongous crater filled with magma, located on continent X. Were it ever to explode again, it would wipe every living being off the face of the planet. Despite the danger the sleeping volcano poses, the locals still regard it as a holy place, seeing as, according to the myths, one of their holy figures caused the volcano to erupt and then managed the flow of lava to drive away enemies and save their people. Now, at the foot of the volcano, the new capital X lies.
Geography
In the middle of an eastern continent lies sleeping, a giant of a volcano, its diameter spanning a good few thousand kilometres. Surrounding it is at first rocky ground and steep cliffs, with magma caves, holed away in them. Then to the south, past the ring of fire and rock, lies a stretch extremely fertile farmland, enough to feed millions of people. To the north, however, there is nothing but emptiness. First come rocky hills and sharp cliffs, only to plunge into a salty ocean.
Fauna & Flora
There are all kinds of flora and faun. Closer to the volcano itself, you can see all kinds of rare insects and amphibians scuttling about, as well as quadrupeds in the likeness of felines and mountain goats, living off of local fauna hardy enough to withstand the rocky soil.
Natural Resources
Due to an earlier eruption of the volcano, the nearest ground is scorched to stone, the dirt never to be fertile again. However, past this dead stretch, there is thousands of hectares of incredibly fertile farmland, which can yield all kind of crops. Not only has the volcano caused the overflow in these natural resources, due to its nature, there's also an abundance of all kinds of rare chemicals, which are not only used for science, but also mundane things, such as building houses.
