Pledge Your Goal
Another year gone. I really don't understand how time works! I haven't done much worldbuilding this year, so WorldEmber feels like a good excuse to dip my toes back in for a little while.
Areas of Focus
I have a new world I'm working on at the moment! So my main focus is building that out, but I also have some writing I need to do for The Wilds, and P'Ache is always there to pick up everything else.
P'Ache
P'Ache is an entire universe which makes the scope very broad. It's there to help me mop up anything I don't have space for in the other worlds.
The Wilds
The Wilds is the world I'm using for writing my current novel series, which is generating a lot of stubs that I'm hoping to purge this WorldEmber.
Threadfall
This is a new world I've created for roleplaying but also to explore different types of worldbuilding and storytelling.
Writing Goal
I want to average roughly 1k words a day, so I'm committing to 30k words total. I'm going to be travelling a lot in December, so this really is a stretch goal, even though it's less than I've done in previous years.
The Prep Bingo
I'm going with the second column on the bingo card. Here goes...

Refresh Your Author Profile
I tried doing this, but I'm not good at writing about myself, so I gave it a little touch-up.

I'm already part of the community! I'm in the Discord server, and while I'm not super active, I am there.

Define the Scope of my Worldbuilding
This is a difficult one. It's going to be different for each of my worlds.
- Threadfall - This will be the primary focus for WorldEmber. I need to build a lot of articles in the Minaka Vale category for the purposes of the RPG I'm running.
- The Wilds - I have some tidying up I need to do here. I've written 2.5 books in this world, and a lot of that needs to be documented in here.
- P'Ache - So many stubs, so little time!
Make a List of Articles I want to Write
Last year I made a separate To Do list article for each world, which was a lot to create and even more to managed. Instead, this year I'm reusing a spreadsheet I've used previously. I think it was one based on one which
The Wonderful Catoblepon made (but if not, let me know and I'll update this!):
I'm going to keep this spreadsheet up to date with progress.
I just finished reading The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson and it absolutely blew me away.
Not only is the story compelling but the world is completely engaging and the writing style felt completely unique. I was intimidated at first, but I have already found so much inspriation in it.
Good luck this year! :D <3
Thank you! <3 You too!
