Writing Prompt 10

Prompt:

You are given the worst sentence imaginable in Oxerune. What is it, and what crime did you commit to earn it?

Flamering on Crime:

Being a city of knowledge guarded by a resplendent greatwyrm, in the Dragonscale Islands, there isn't much in the way of traditional crime in Flamering. The crimes committed here are usually related to knowledge, withholding new findings, lying about what you know or falsifying information. Depending on the specifics these can come with varying penalties. But for the worst of crimes, burning knowledge, you will be banished from Flamering and its sister city of Owltree, stripped of your status and ranking, and if deemed dire enough, your knowledge may be stripped from you as well.

The Lizardfolk of Calaeqia on Crime:

The lizardfolk that live in the Dragon's Head Forest on the continent of Calaeqia are not the most developed nation. They live in large settlements that look more like temporary camps than permanent structures. They worship the Verdant Wyrm who lives in the tallest tree in the heart of their forest. Every dawn they come to the base of the tree with their offerings or food, laying them in a large gap in the roots, careful not to fall in. When all the offerings are presented, a horn is sounded and a massive, clawed, green paw rises from the shadowy depths to pull their offerings into the darkness below. The only proof they have that their pseudo-god is real. Failing to leave an offering or food after your 20th summer, stealing from the offering pile, or even more horrifyingly stealing from the Verdant Wyrm herself, will result in having your limbs bound together before you're shoved down the offering hole. If the fall doesn't kill you, the Verdant Wyrm will. The only things that go down there are offerings for her hoard, and food.
