Stewards of the Maiden
The Stewards of the Maiden are a group of healers that worship Kandetreath, people often fear their appearance and misattribute deaths to them. In actuality, the Stewards of the Maiden heal everyone they can hoping to save them all, but when they're too far gone, they use a simple sleep spell to let them pass painlessly.
Structure
The lowest rank in the Stewards of the Maiden is maiden. Maidens are new initiates who are still learning the ways of the Stewards. They become stewards once they pass their test and have learned all the basics. The highest rank is the Blessed. There is only one Blessed at any time in the Stewards though there may be a Blessed in training known as a Whisper.
Public Agenda
Though often doubted by the public, the Stewards of the Maiden swears to protect those who are vulnerable, heal those who have been wounded, and to release those who are suffering from their pain. Kandetreath has no desire for people to be hurried to their deaths, she will gather them all in her arms in due time. She appreciates the struggle to survive and grow and encourages her followers to live life to the fullest they desire. As such, the Stewards of the Maiden seek to heal people and extend their life in her honor. It is also what makes it easier to let go when they have given their all to live, they know Kandetreath is waiting to shepherd them home.
Religion
While Stewards of the Maiden are free to worship whoever they want, respects must be paid to the Maiden of Death. It is through her power that they are able to do their important work saving people. As such she must be appropriately revered.
Education
Upon joining the Stewards of the Maiden, young maidens spend much time studying learning the history of the Stewards, the magics they use, how to heal, how to comfort families, and most importantly how to let go. Not everyone can be saved, and sometimes trying to continue to save them can cause more harm than it can help. Once the maidens finish their education they can take the test to become full fledged stewards.
