Magmabane's Ring

A thick golden band with delicate engravings of an axe, a hellbeast, a volcano, and a sun. The main engravings loop together in a single continuous scroll with additional engravings decorating the edges. The ring has hand-carved engravings of Magmabane's axe, tied to an engraving of a hellbeast charging forward. That engraving loops into a delicately detailed volcano with tiny marks evoking ember blooms decorating it, though there are skeptics who posit these are simply scratches. As a result Grüghil has stopped letting people admire the ring as closely as before. The volcano engraving scrawls into an intricate sun before twisting back into the axe.

The first offering Grüghil Magmabane ever received was a thick golden band carved by none other than his late father's friend Crathor Frostback. Frostback created the ring to commemorate Grüghil Magmabane's ascension to godhood and wish him well in the new chapter of his life. The ring was initially going to be a grave good, a mere trinket to push against the onslaught of grief Frostback felt when he thought his friend's son had died for them. When Magmabane descended from on high to greet his clan and assure them that there was hope, Crathor even teared up a bit—not that he'd ever admit to it. It was then that he began turning the token into a real offering, working quickly so he could be the first to offer the young god something. When he presented it, Grüghil had laughed and said that he didn't deserve such a fine thing and that Frostback may have been better off making more weapons. It had earned him a hearty punch in the shoulder and grumbling of love and care. Since then, Crathor Frostback has been one of the Smith's staunchest supporters and followers. He doesn't worship however, as he doesn't want it to go to his head.

The first offering that the God of Smiths, Volcanoes, and Flame ever received. While it has little practical or magical value beyond being made of gold, it's one of his most treasured possessions.
