Celniana Aelnor a.k.a. Cel (Kel)
Hero of the World
During the Undoing, Celniana Aelnor, known to her loved ones as Cel, was part of the final battle to drive the demons back to the Nine Sectors. Blessed by Caramip - the newly born Goddess of the Hearth and Home, Cel was in the midst of battle alongside her allies against the Heralds of the Sectors. One by one, the Heralds were slain until only the Herald of Wrath remained. Their ragtag rebel army was flagging, hundreds lay slain or injured. The fledgling gods could no longer intervene, all of their power focused on creating the Seal that would save them. The Herald of Wrath was preparing its final assault, aiming for the gods and determined to stop them. Cel was the only one close enough to try and stop it. In a moment of inspiration, Cel called out to Caramip, telling her to reclaim her blessing as a boost to finish it off. She knew she wouldn't survive the final attack and when Caramip tried to warn Cel she simply replied, "This is worth the sacrifice." The young gods agreed, calling out to the surviving priests, shamans, and their blessed followers, asking if they could give their divine power up to give them the energy to finish the Seal. Despite their hesitation and fear, each agreed, trusting in the new gods and out of options.
With the blessing of Caramip, Cel launches herself forward into a final attack. She drew her shortsword and leapt into the air, the warmth of a newly sparked hearth driving her attack. The creation of a new world for homes to be made heralded with the sword sinking into Wrath's Herald. Not only had Cel slain the Herald, she had blocked it. The attack intended for the gods found it's way into her chest, tearing through her. The blessing of Caramip rushing out in the same moment. So much energy and power intended to take down celestial beings, however new, obliterated Cel. Thanks to her ingenuity and sacrifice, the Young Gods finished the Seal, preventing the Nine Sectors of Hell from further destroying the world. The rebel army would go down as the Legion of the Gods, and Celniana Aelnor is remembered as a Hero of the World.
Before the final retreat from Oxaren, a menhir was erected with the names of all the fallen inscribed upon it. At the top of the menhir, and gracing many hearths, are a pair of wings that sprout from a sword, in memoriam of Cel.
