Spellweave Ink

Properties

Material Characteristics

Spellweave Ink is a thickened ink substance, commonly stored in vials containing around 150ml. The ink is golden in natural colouration, though whilst still a liquid it has a shimmering, glittery effect with swirling, shifting hues coming from the Prismatic Crystals suspended in the solution. After drying the ink is a metallic gold colour, though when the spells are being used the dried ink begins to shimmer once more, glowing a bright, shifting pattern of hues. Once the spell has been cast, the dried ink looks like tarnished silver, slowly regaining its golden hue after 24 hours.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Spellweave Ink is most commonly used in two regards, writing out arcane spells and as a tattoo ink. When Spellweave Ink is used to write out spells either into a spell book or spell scroll, the resulting enchantment on the spell allows the spell to be cast once per day without expending a spell slot.

The ink can also be used in enchanting a person own skin, inlaying spells and magical effects into tattoos. Spells and effects tattooed into a persons skin can be used once per day as natural, though the Spellweave Ink can be added too to increase the strength or number of times the tattoos enchantments can be used each day.

Refinement

Spellweave Ink is created by grinding down Prismatic Shards that are rarely found growing in underground locations with intense magical presences. The crystal dust is then mixed with a speciality ink created by mixing a solution of oil and gold pigment.

Distribution

Trade & Market

Spellweave Ink is a main export from Beachholde, the wizards and spellcasters in the city creating the ink for their own uses, eventually increasing the production, causing it to be come a highly sought after component for spellcasters.
