Luphrel bloodline

Free Stunts: command creatures Costly stunt: shapeshift Aspects: understands body language just as well as speech Troubles:inhuman appearance II, needs animal companionship
Luphrel are typically considered Ekon, although some consider them Vulkod. They're pointy-eared and have slitted pupils, but can still pass for human with minimal effort. The most notable thing about Luphrel is their connection to animals, they're capable of manipulating nocturnal creatures. Highly intelligent animals have to be bargained with, but simple-minded creatures like mice or insects can be controlled completely. Some Luphrel are even capable of shapeshifting into these nocturnal creatures, ignoring the conservation of mass Weres contend with.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Like all Vampires, Luphrel have pale skin, fangs, and Tapetum Lucidum. They also have retractable claws, slitted pupils and pointy ears, making their classification as Ekon debatable. Their teeth are more like that of mammalian piscivores, with short, pointy incisors, and teeth curving back into the mouth. Their teeth are notably thinner and more widely spaced than actual piscivores, and are better at shredding meat than tearing out chunks.

Growth Rate & Stages

Unlike most Vampires, newborn Luphrel grow in an entire set of teeth, losing their human teeth. Oral fixations are common during this teething stage.

Ecology and Habitats

Luphrel do well wherever animals can be found; whether those are the rats and stray cats of the city, or all of the creatures of the wilderness. But once a Luphrel acclimatizes to one ecosystem, they have trouble adjusting to a new one.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Luphrel are most common in rural areas of eastern Europe, but can be found just about anywhere.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Luphrel can be understood by nocturnal creatures, and can even make those creatures follow orders they shouldn't understand such as "lead me to John Doe." Intelligent animals such as wolves have to be bargained with; offerings of food or grooming will get most requests fulfilled. Giving a creature their blood connects it's mind to the vampire's, allowing for 2-way telepathic communication.
