Surrak Dragonclaw
The undisputed khan of the Temur Clan, Surrak has held the title of Dragonclaw for almost a generation, and in that time has left the Temur Frontier to ever greater glory. With Surrak as their khan, the members of the Temur fear little, and back down from nothing, facing every challenge with an unconquerable vigor.
The Punch Heard Round the World Descended from a long line of Temur khans, including the famous Yasova Dragonclaw, many of the Temur shamans knew from his birth The Surrak would have a unique destiny. Like many Temur khans, as Surrak grew he demonstrated prodigious strength, unbending fortitude, and a natural talent for the days of the shaman. By the time he was a young man, Surrak was believed by many to be the fiercest warrior and most skilled hunter in all of the Temur Frontier.
The day Surrak became khan is marked well by Temur legends, and its story has been carved on dozens of bones and charm. On a winter trip to Qal Sisma mountain range, to hunt for mammoths to fee the clan, Surrak and a few other hunters, including the former khan, were separated from the rest of their group in an unexpected blizzard. While trying to find their way back to camp, they were attacked by an oversized cave bear, ferocious from days of hunger. The bear's hunger prevented it from being subdued with magic, and in the struggle, Surrak's spear was broken.
As the bear readied to kill the others of Surrak's party, he threw himself at the beast, fighting against it with nothing but fist and feet. As the bear tired, and Surrak began to gain the upper hand, he threw a punch which knocked the bear out, as well several of its teeth from its mouth. When it was subdued, in honor of the incredible vigor it showed in battle, Surrak used his magic to take the bear rather than slay it. When he and the others returned to camp, with the bear in tow, Surrak was named to the position of khan of the Temur Clan in honor of his deeds.
Khan of the Temur For many years, the cave bear which led to Surrak's ascension to khan remained a beloved ally, always at his side in battle. Others soon tamed their own ursine companions, and the Temur Clans would be recognized by the other clans for these terrifying allies. In a confrontation with Sultai raiders, Surrak's cave near companion was struck by a poisoned arrorw, and Surrak was forced to give his beloved friend mercy. Taking the cave bear's hide, Surrak fashioned it into a cloak, a symbol of the Temu, their bear companions, and himself.
While decades have passed since Surrak became khan of the Temur, and several even since the death if te cave bea, Surrak's strength has not waned, and he remains the Temur's most powerful hunger. On the battlefield he stands out, recognizable by his long hair, his hide armor crafted from the cave bear, and the spear that marks his leadership, crafted from the claws of an extinct dragon.
Undefeated in Combat When Surrak fights, he brings to bare all of the skills, he has learned in his many years as a has learned in his many years as a hunter. He rarely approaches his enemy openly, instead opting to often fall back and circle around, trapping is prey while they remain unawares, then suddenly springing to attack. In doing so, Srrak can catch his enemy off-guard, sinking his spear to the claws of his gloves deep into the cracks between their armor.
Once the battle has begun in earnest, Surrak uses every ounce of his skill, never holding back and never afraid to call on the shamanic magic he still wields to aid him or his allies. He will often move in close to strike, then step back to taunt his foe, baiting them into moving closer, where he can strike again before once more stepping back away from their blade.
Surrak is a proud fighter and a leader as well, and will fiercely defend his companions when he can, bu knows that death in battle is unavoidable. Such is the way of the world, and Surrak knows that those killed in service of the Temur are blessed the ancestors, and join the ranks of their honored spirits. It is Surrak's hope that when his time comes at last, he receives an equally worthy end, and is willing to work to ensure it happens as he chooses.
