Spearpoint Oread
Like statues carved out of rock, the spearpoint oreads are all angles and hard surfaces, just like one might expect from the personal servants of Purphoros, God of the Forge. In total opposition of the alseids of Heliod, the oreads of Purphoros work closely alonside their god, cooperating in any number of different ways. Purphoros relies on the oreads to gather materials for his forge, protect his magical constructs from harm, scout new and talented artisans, and many other jobs.
Defenders of the Arts Rarely found near towns and villages, spearpoint oreads are more commonly seen in the mountains of Phoberos or the wilds of the chaparral. Here they wander day and night, seeking out new ores and gems to deliver to Purphors' many automaton creations. The latter is perhaps their most important job, as Purphoros views his constructs with an almost fatherly affection, and places high importance on making sure they aren't taken by marauders, mortal heroes, or monstrous minotaur's. The oreads are also in charge of defending the works of other artisians which Purphoros has shown favor to something that brings them into constant conflict with the alseids. Heliod and Purphoros have a long-standing rivalry, one which has constantly shifted between friendly and venomous without notice, leaving the spearpoint oreads and the observant alseids in a constant tension. When an oread must come into town to check on a favored artisan, they are almost always met with open hostility from the town's guardian alseid.
Loves of Nature If the relationship between the oreads and the alseids is best described as tense, their relationshop with the dryad servants of Nylea is quite the opposite. Long ago, before Nylea and Purphoros took on their current roles, the two gods shared an intense and romantic passion for each other - one which passed from them to the nymphs. As Nylea changed roles to the God of the Hunt, her relationship[ with Purphoros soured, though he kept his spark alive for several more decades. The dryads ad the oreads, unaffected by the same personality shifts, have remained loosely infatuated. As the dryads spend their time in the greener places of nature, and the oreads in the mountains and crags, they rarely get the change to come together. But as often as they can, a number of oreads and dryads will get together. But as often as they can, a number of oreads and dryads will get together and revel and celebrate, spending time reacquainting themselves with each other.
