Sisters of Stone Death
Originally five in number, these gorgon sisters are most famous for their usurpation of of the parun and original guild-master of the of the Golgari Swarm, the necromancer Svogthir. Working together under the influence of Szadek, leader of House Dimir, the Sisters of Stone Death were able to imprison Svogthir beneath the Undercity, at the cost of two of their number.
Three Turns to One Soon after becoming the leaders of the Golgari, the three remaining Sisters- Lexya, Lydya, and Ludmilla - were overthrown themselves by Savra, sister of the Golgari's future leader, Jarad, with the aid of Svogthir. In the ensuing battle, two more Sisters were killed, leaving only Ludmilla. Spared by Svogthir, while leading an attack on the Boros Legion ordered by Savra, Ludmilla was defeated by the angel Feather, and once again spared under the promise that she would retreat to the deepest reaches of the Undercity. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Special 1 | Petrifying Gaze | When a creature that can see the medusa's eyes starts its turn within 30 ft. of the medusa, | the medusa can force it to make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw |
if the medusa isn't incapacitated and can see the creature. | If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is instantly petrified. | Otherwise, a creature that fails the save begins to turn to stone and is restrained. | The restrained creature must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn, |
becoming petrified on a failure or ending the effect on a success. | The petrification lasts until the creature is freed by the greater restoration spell or other magic. | Unless surprised, a creature can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. | If the creature does so, it can't see the medusa until the start of its next turn, |
when it can avert its eyes again. If the creature looks at the medusa in the meantime, | it must immediately make the save.
Special 2 | Sister's Bond | For each other sister of stone death within 30 feet of the medusa, | the saving throw DC for the medusa's Petrifying Gaze increases by 1, |

Special 3 | Sneak Attack | Once per turn, the medusa can deal an additional 3d6 damage | to a creature it hits with a weapon attack if it has advantage on the attack roll, |
or if another enemy of the target is within 5 ft. of the target, | that enemy isn't incapacitated, | and the medusa doesn't have disadvantage on the attack roll

the target must make a saving throw as if affected by the medusa's Petrifying Gaze
Legendary Action 3 | Animating Touch (Costs 3 Actions) | The medusa touches one creature it has successfully petrified, | animating the creature under the medusa's control. |
The medusa can use this action only if there is another sister of stone death within 5 ft. of the target. | For 1 minute, the target moves as if it were not petrified, | its AC becomes 16, it does not automatically fail | Strength and Dexterity saving throws, |
and attacks against it do not have an advantage. | The animated creature acts at the end of the medusa's turn and follows its commands. | The medusa can use a bonus action on its turn to verbally command the creature. | At the end of each of the medusa's turns. |
