Prescient Chimera

Graced with the head and wings of an owl, the graceful body of a lion, and the powerful tale of a giant lizard, the prescient chimera is a strange beast, even for its kind. Though the individual pieces of its body leave no doubt that the final creature is a predator, and likely to be a dangerous one, no one has ever seen a prescient chimera on a hunt. Instead, it seems these magical amalgams prefer to spend their time either leisurely gliding the air currents, or dozing atop their cliffside nests.   When a prescient chimer does grow hungry, its solution is simple and instantaneous- the chimera catches whatever is nearby, and consumes it whole, just as an owl would do. Most intelligent creatures are in little danger from the chimeras, as they're too big to be swallowed whole. But the speed with which the process is completed, and the sudden shift of the chimera's attitude, is still highly unnerving to watch.   Stalking the Future The greater question in seeing a prescient chimera attack and eat its prey is how the creature knows exactly when and where to be for the attack. The answer, though mystifying, lies, in the chmera's eyes. Few ever get close enough to a prescient chimera to see eye-to-eye with the creature, but those who do speak of the wondrous things they see reflected back at them and liken it to looking at the starfield of Nyx. Prescient chimeras, as their name would suggest, are able to see deeply into the future.   Because the chimeras can not communicate, how far ahead they're able to see is unknown. But prescient chimeras have been known to find and attack otherwise innocent travelers, only for it to be revealed that those same travelers had even momentarily been considering a trip to the chimera's nest, to collect their eggs or feathers, both of which sell for a high value on the black market.

After doing so, it rolls a d20 and records the results.Once before the end of the chimera's next short or long rest, when the chimera or a creature within 60 feet of it rolls a d20,the chimera can choose to replace the result of that roll with the recorded roll.
The chimera must choose whether to do so before the roll is made. When the chimera uses its Portent reaction,it loses any previously recorded rolls.
