Powerstone Shard

Though clearly just a small fragment of a larger whole, this stone still holds warmth and power larger than its size would suggest. This item has 1 charge. While holding the stone, you can use an action and expend a charge to cast any Wizard spell of 1st level or lower with a casting time of 1 action, without requiring material components. For each additional powerstone shard in your possession, you can choose to expend that powerstone shard’s charge in order to increase the level of the spell you are able to cast by one, up to a maximum of 5th level.   Alternatively, you can spend 1 hour to permanently attach the stone to any magic item which has at least 1 charge and the ability to regain expended charges. Doing so adds 1 charge to the maximum number of charges the item can hold.
