Moonsilver Spear

Since ancient times, the cycles of the moon have governed the lives of beasts, and silver has proven a bane against the terrors of the night. It is only appropriate, then, that together they should serve as a weapon capable of eliminating any evil, no matter how dreadful. Though its form has been copied time and again, passed to clerics and Cathars to inspire them and provide defense against the wicked, no weapon can truly stand next to the original moonsilver spear. Wielded by the archangel Avacyn herself, the true moonsilver spear is said to have been made at the same moment Avacyn herself was born into the world. Together they were each carved from the same vein of silver, found in a rock that had fallen from the moon. After Avacyn and the spear, the remaining chunk of silver was transformed by Avacyn herself into the Helvault, eternal prison of the devilish and demonic.   Magic Weapon The moonsilver spear is a magic weapon that grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it, and the moonsilver spear is considered silvered for the purposes of overcoming damage resistance. In addition, attacks made with the moonsilver spear deal an additional 1d10 radiant damage.   Random Properties The moonsilver spear has the following randomly determined properties:
  • 1 major beneficial property
  • 2 minor beneficial properties
Blinding Radiance While wielding the moonsilver spear, you can use an action on your turn to hold it aloft and cause a blindingly bright, white light to emanate from the spear’s point. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute. A blinded creature can repeat the saving throw at the start of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. Evil-aligned creatures have a disadvantage on the saving throw, and good-aligned creatures have an advantage over it.   Celestial Summoning The moonsilver spear has 4 charges, and regains 4 expended charges once a month, at every full moon. While wielding the spear, you can use an action and expend a number of charges to cast the conjure celestial spell. However, the celestial summoned depends on the number of charges expended. You can use the spear to summon a unicorn (1 charge), a deva (2 charges), a kirin (3 charges), or a planetar (4 charges). At the next dawn after expending the last charge from the moonsilver spear, you must spend 1 hour in prayer and contemplation while within 5 feet of the spear. At the end of the hour, you must make a DC 20 Wisdom (Religion) or Charisma (Religion) check. On a success, the spear regains 1 charge; on a failure, the spear disappears in a flash of white light, which leaves you blind for 12 hours.   Strike Against Evil While wielding the moonsilver spear, you have an advantage on the first attack you make with it on each of your turns. In addition, attacks made with the moonsilver spear deal an additional 3d10 radiant damage against fiends, shapechangers, and undead.
