In Bolas’s Clutches
You offer a magical contract to a willing creature, allowing them to lend you their life in return for enormous power. If the target accepts the contract, it becomes your thrall, and for the duration of the spell, it gains the ability to cast a number of spells per day equal to your Intelligence modifier. The saving throw DC and spell attack modifier for these spells is determined by your Intelligence score. Whenever the thrall finishes a long rest, you choose a number of spells that you know are equal to your Intelligence modifier. The chosen spells must be of 5th-level or lower. You lose the ability to cast the chosen spells and the thrall gains the ability to cast those spells. At the end of the thrall’s next long rest, you regain the ability to cast the spells, and the thrall loses the ability to cast them. For the spell’s duration, you can use a bonus action on your turn to attempt to take full control of the thrall. The thrall must make a Charisma saving throw with disadvantage. On a failed save, you gain full control over the thrall and its actions and can dictate what it does on each of its turns. While the thrall is under your total control, it can repeat the saving throw at the start of each of its turns. If it succeeds, the thrall regains control over its actions and can choose to end the effects of the spell when it does. On a failed saving throw, the thrall instead takes 4d6 psychic damage. If this damage reduces the thrall to 0 hit points, its mind is destroyed, and it dies immediately.
Legendary Spell You must be 20th level or above in order to cast this spell.
