Forebear’s Blade
These incredible blades are weapons crafted from enchanted steel, designed to never crack or break, and usually marked with the crest of the family the blade originally belonged to. Designed to be handed down from generation to generation, these weapons have a tendency to be lost on the battlefield or during dangerous expeditions, leading many of them to wind up on the open market. You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. In addition, while wielding this weapon whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to make a single melee attack with this weapon. While attuned to this weapon you can designate a single creature within 10 feet as your successor, in a magical ritual which takes 1 hour to complete. You and the target must remain within 10 feet of each other during this ritual and can take no other actions during this time. If at any time while using this weapon you are reduced to 0 hit points, your designated successor automatically gains a +3 bonus to AC until the end of their next turn, and can automatically attune to this weapon by picking it up.
