Firedrinker Satyr

The satyrs of Theros are infamous for their wild, passionate revels- grand parties filled with food, drink, and all manner of entertainment. The satyrs have held these revels for centuries, making them one of the oldest traditions on Theros, and over the years dozens of different forms of entertainment have been devised to capture the attentions of the party-goers.   Mixed in with the archery contests, poetry singers, and pipe bands are the five drinkers- satyrs who have spent years training their stomachs to resist intense heat and training their minds to resist the fear of flame. The firedrinkers perform a show that involves preparing specialized alcoholic beverages, lighting them on fire, and chugging them whole, only to spew them back at as clouds on incendiary droplets.   Dangerous Persuasion To become a firedrinker takes years, sometimes decades, of preparation, peppered with dozens of accidental burns and other injuries. It is not a profession for the faint of heart, but few satyrs are. Even so, the satyrs that manage to complete their training and become firedrinkers are a special breed of wild, so assured of their own skill that they rarely consider the danger their shows pose to others.   At a satyr revel, fires are common; some are intended, some are not. While a firedrinker is always exciting entertainment, satyrs usually take just as much enjoyment in the chaos that erupts when one of their performances goes awry, resulting in spectator injury- as long as the spectator is not themselves, of course. Humans, centaurs, and others that take the risk of joining a satyr revel are most at risk in the company of a firedrinker, as satyr performers usually go to great lengths to capture the fascination of outsiders, and outsiders have a dangerous tendency to assume the show is guaranteed to be safe.
