Find Assistant

The scrap metal shapes itself into the form of any beast or construct with a CR of ⅛ or lower, appearing in an unoccupied space within range. The assistant has the statistics of the chosen form, though it is a construct if it was not already, is immune to exhaustion, and does not have weapons if it normally would.   Your assistant acts independently of you, but it always obeys your commands. In combat, it rolls its own initiative and acts on its own turn. An assistant can’t attack, but it can take other actions as normal.   When the assistant drops to 0 hit points, it breaks into the same scrap metal which was used to create it. While your assistant is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically.   Finally, as a ritual which takes 10 minutes to perform, you can cause your assistant to replicate the ability of any magical item which requires expending charges to perform. The magic item must remain within 10 feet of both you and the assistant for the duration of the ritual. An assistant may only replicate one ability at a time, and you can spend another 10 minutes to perform the ritual again in order to change the ability that assistant replicates.   Once per day, you can use a bonus action on your turn to command your assistant to use the replicated ability, as if it were a magic item of that type. You choose any targets for the effect as normal.   For instance, you could perform a ritual with a wand of magic missile involving an assistant in the form of an owl, to allow your assistant to cast the magic missile spell at 1st level once per day.
