Favored Hoplite
On occasion, the gods of Theros will choose to bestow their favor on a mortal champion, granting them riches, power, fame, or any one of a number of boons. What draws the gods to an individual mortal is impossible to say, known only to them.
Sometimes the gods choose mortals destined for grand fates, hoping to sway them to their favor. Other times they choose mortals that distinguish themselves in some way pleasing to that god and their domain. And sometimes the gods simply choose as they will, granting the power of the mighty to the meek, curious to know how their future will play out.
