Darigaaz Reincarnated
Darigaaz is the red incarnation of a group of five god-like dragons known as the Primevals. These powerful creatures ruled Dominaria millennia ago, before the conception of man, and each spent thousands of years trapped or imprisoned. Centuries ago, each of the Primevals’ were freed from their imprisonment by Darigaaz, and they all proceeded to attempt the conquering of Dominaria. When Darigaaz realized his mistake, he sacrificed himself, allowing the other Primevals to be killed or once again imprisoned. Now Darigaaz has reincarnated again, with the intention of making up for the mistakes of his past lives.
Rediscovery of Power Darigaaz was brought forth back into the world when his egg was discovered in a time rift, and brought from it into the present time. Here Darigaaz was raised in a world where the creatures of Shiv lived in a semblance of harmony, working together as the Shivan Nations to protect themselves and their history. Among the human people of the Ghitu, Darigaaz grew older and was taught the truth of his lineage, and his status as the reincarnation of the red Primeval Dragon. Given this knowledge, Darigaaz was over time able to recollect the memories of his past lives, including the mistakes that each of them had made.
Champion of Shiv Determined to learn from the past rather than repeat it, and armed with a wisdom far beyond his years, Darigaaz now seeks to represent and protect all of the people of Shiv, whether goblin, human, viashino, or dragon. Darigaaz freely follows the orders of the Council of Shiv, working to better the island for the future. Some of these residents, particularly a few of the dragons, feel that these changes undermine their power, and actively seek to work against the Council, and Darigaaz, wherever they can.
Strength of the Primevals Currently Darigaaz sits at just under a century in age, but already his size and strength rivals that of many of Shiv’s eldest dragons. Because of this, some older dragons view Darigaaz as an upstart, while the very oldest among them recognize it as a sign that Darigaaz is truly who he claims to be. Thankfully, this strength is a helpful tool for cowing rivals and defeating challengers to Darigaaz’s title. Darigaaz is also capable of creating intense blasts of heat, more powerful than any other dragon, which seem to burn with the power of Shiv’s own volcanoes. If necessary, Darigaaz can even steel himself for a moment, focusing on the flame that burns within him to successfully bring forth this flame as frequently as he chooses. While this ability is powerful, unbeknownst to even Darigaaz himself, his greatest strength lies dormant still, and has never been used- as a result of his Primeval heritage, and having been displaced through a time rift, Darigaaz’s ability to reincarnate has shifted into overdrive, giving him the ability to fully and immediately resurrect upon his death.
