Corpse Lunge
You can use your reaction to cast this spell when a creature within range dies. The creature’s Challenge Rating must be equal to or lower than ½ your level. If the creature doesn’t have a CR, treat its level as its CR instead. Your necromantic magic quickly traps and binds the spirit of the dead creature to yourself, storing its energy for later use. If the target is a construct, the spell has no effect. Any time before the spell ends, you can use an action on your turn to transform the creature’s soul into pure magical energy, launching it at a target you can see within 60 ft. of yourself. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, on a failed save taking an amount of necrotic damage equal to 1d6 x the CR of the original creature, or half as much on a success. After doing so, the captured soul is destroyed entirely, and the creature can’t be resurrected except through use of the wish spell.
At Higher Levels When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can instead trap the soul of any creature with a CR equal to or lower than your level. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 9th level or higher, you can trap the soul of any creature regardless of its Challenge Rating.
