Cabal Paladin
The Cabal is the most universally reviled and hated organization across all of Dominaria, led by the fearsome demon lord known as Belzenlok, who keeps its members tight under his thumb. Belzenlok demands the eternal worship of all members of the Cabal, as well as its slaves and prisoners, turning those who don’t comply into undead servants. The enforcers of this organization are known as paladins, a twisted mockery of the vigilant heroes who serve the causes of good deities such as Serra.
Watchful Eyes of Belzenlok The paladins of the Cabal serve several purposes, chief among them fighting on the battlefield for the glory of Belzenlok. When not actively participating in warfare and genocide, the cabal paladins work to ensure that other members of the Cabal are always fervent in their devotion to their leader, willing to give their lives to the cause of the Cabal. These paladins use the magic granted to them by Belzenlok to sniff out any sign of traitors, hunting them down and interrogating them to ensure they are still loyal to the Cabal and to their demonic leader.
Lie and Cheat The Cabal is highly feared for its well trained spies, agents capable of blending perfectly with the members of an organization or the peoples of a nation. These infiltrators pass important information to the Cabal in preparation for conquest, always seeking weaknesses in every defense. The Cabal paladins sometimes serve in this role when infiltration into a military force or other religion is required. The paladins will deceive their way into a company’s ranks, bullying and shouting down any accusations that might come against them, and using their demon-granted spells to convince others of their holy power. These paladin spies are specially trained to resist magic which might turn them from their cause, or risk dragging the truth from their tongues.
Intense Devotees Every member of the Cabal is always ready to fight at a moment’s notice, and their paladins throw themselves into combat with a terrifying fervor. Wielding enormous warhammers and often mounted on the backs of demonic steeds, a paladin of the Cabal is trained to rush for spellcasters first, removing them from battle with their overwhelming martial superiority. In battle, the first solid blow a Cabal paladin lands is often the finishing strike, as their hammers are designed to work with their immense strength to cripple enemies and devastate armor, while keeping other weapons at arm’s length.
