Borborygmos

The Gruul Clans are just that- a series of disconnected clans, made up of dozens of disparate races, united only in their desire to crush Ravnincan civilization and wipe the slate clean. The Gruul have no single leader, and each clan follows the whims of its individual head. But if there were ever a unified Gruul leader, the cyclops Borborygmos would be the closes thing possible.   Leadership Through Strength Borborygmos is the leader of the Burning Tree clan, a position he inherited by defeating the previous leader in combat, and which he protects in the same way. In his time as clan leader, Borborygmos has faced dozens of challengers and defeated every single one. A rare few have come close to defeating the massive cyclops, but in the end, left the arena broken and battered.   To Fight and to Eat Under Borborygmos' leadership, the Burning Tree clan has grown to become the largest and most diverse of all the Gruul clans. Its members include humans, minotaur's, giants, viashino, and dozens of other races. the varied makeup of the clan often leads to tension between its members, though disputes are always quickly settled in one-on-one duels.   The Burning Tree clan, for the most, happily follows Borborygmos, who spends his time leading the clan into large-scale battles, follows by huge feasts. The cyclops has an undeniable charisma, despite his lack of intelligence, making his opinion well-respected even among the other Gruul clans.   Fall from Power Though Borborygoms has led the Burning Tree clan for decades, his power could not remain forever. In the end, the cyclops was overthrown by the planeswalker Domri Rade, who summoned wave after wave of powerful beasts from Ravnica's wilds to assault the cyclops.   Despite being heavily outnumbered and overpowered, Borbrygmos fought for hours, and at no point could the outcome of the fight be easily predicted. After losing his position of leadership, Borborygmos was shamed and exiled from the Gruul clans, and forced to live as a loner in the Rubblebelt.
