Bloodstone Goblin
Generations ago, one goblin discovered a curious stone on the slopes of an active volcanic mountain, altering the course of destiny for its tribe. The bloodstone spoke in hushed whispers, of raining fire and looming shadow, with words that crawled their way into the goblin’s mind. The goblin was eager to learn, and the bloodstone was eager to teach.
Ancient Secrets In the wake of the time rifts which nearly tore Dominaria apart, the world itself was left charged with magic, imbuing natural sources with unnatural powers. In the volcanic mountains of Shiv, a single goblin found a shard of stone left imprinted with dark sorcery, a relic of this time. Choosing to go by the name of Bloodstone, this goblin drew magic and power from the rock, conquering her tribe and uniting it with others. As Bloodstone’s power and influence spread, the goblins were slowly converted to worship of the stone, and taught to use its magic as well.
A Lasting Legacy The original Bloodstone passed of old age generations previous, and when she did, another voice added its whisper to the stone. A new leader was chosen, and took the name Bloodstone for herself, and the secrets of the rock’s magic continued to be taught. Each time a Bloodstone dies, another rises in their place to lead the tribe, and the power and influence of the original stone grows. The Bloodstone goblin tribe are one of the largest in Shiv, and easily one of the most feared, as few goblins on Dominaria ever learn to use magic.
Power that Burns Each goblin of the Bloodstone tribe is taught both the art of combat with a sword, and the secrets of channeling the stone’s power. With blades made from the same kind of rock which they worship, a Bloodstone goblin can hack and slash enemies to bits, blasting them with magically summoned fire as they do so. Their magic both protects them and rends the flesh of their foes, making them more fearsome than any goblin tribe has a right to be.
