Adeliz The Cinder Wind
Known for her passion and insight, Adeliz has been a fixture of the Tolarian Academy for several years. Born to the Ghitu people, Adeliz became adept at using evocation magic at a young age, using fire in many spells as most Ghitu spellcasters do. Eventually, Adeliz became well-known as a troublemaker, often using her magic with little regard for the rules and concerns of her people. When a journeymage on a trip to the Ghitu homeland discovered Adeliz, they saw potential in the reckless young mage, and extended an offer to accompany them back to the Academy, which Adeliz was eventually persuaded to accept.
Passionate Intensity Few of the mages who choose to study at the Tolarian Academy are from the Ghitu, and fewer are those directly invited, immediately marking Adeliz as unusual to those who recognize the Ghitu-inspires student robes which she wears. At first, Adeliz struggled to fit in at the Academy, finding little common ground with the other students. But as time passed, Adeliz began to build relationships with others based upon a mutual interest in the understanding of magic- a topic in which she proved to be quite adept.
Cool Insight Adeliz is well known amongst the teachers of the Tolarian Academy for her unusual and creative solutions. Where others are content to replicate the process of those who came before, Adeliz seeks to meld the teachings of the college with the insight offered by her Ghitu origins. Only rarely do these experiments end in failure, and several times they have resulted in Adeliz offering new lessons to those who are meant to be teaching. This unique ability to blend ancient pyromantic tradition with modern preventative magic has fast-tracked Adeliz on the path to graduation and success, despite her young age.
Powerful Creativity Much of Adeliz’s most successful experiments have resulted in simple spells with powerful effects, which Adeliz can maintain in battle without great effort on her part. These include shrouding her fists, her personal weapon of choice, in damaging fire and ice spells; as well as lifting herself from the ground using powerful volcanic winds, giving rise to the name of Adeliz, the Cinder Wind. Other students and teachers who have tried to replicate these effects often fail or find them more taxing than the results are worth, indicating that Adeliz’s unique growth and education are important for developing the skills necessary to accomplish these feats.
