For the duration of the spell, whenever an ally within 15 feet of the shield takes damage, that damage is reduced by 1d4. If an ally within 15 feet of the shield would be reduced to 0 hit points, they can use their reaction to summon the shield to them, which instead causes their remaining hit points to become 4.
At Higher Levels When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage prevented increases to 1d6 and the remaining hit points changes to 6; at 6th level or higher, it changes to 1d8 and 8 remaining hit points; at 8th level or higher, it changes to 1d10 and 10 remaining hit points.
