Basandra, Battle Seraph

As the ultimate servants of divine forces, angels hold many varied roles, ranging from simple messenger to leader of a heavenly army. To better fill these roles, most angles are created with a specific purpose, and every part of their being is designed to better their capacity in that function. But while rare, some angles find themselves, either through their own desire or some twist of fate, serving a greater purpose than they could have expected. Such as is the case with Basandra, an angel with the title of Battle Seraph.   Rang and File Though she does not look it, Basandra is older than some worlds, and is a veteran of the eternal war between celestial's and fiends. Basandra's original purpose as as a scout and messenger for the divine forces, aiding them by finding and reveling information hidden from them and when necessary, communicating with allied mortals. As she spent centuries fighting for the same world. Basandra grew closer to the mortals living there, watching over generations of families- at first as an enigmatic guardian, and later as a trusted friend.   Against All Orders Basandra served her purpose well, coming to be relied upon by some of the highest celestial generals. But the world on which she fought, the place she had so far spent all of her existence, was slowly being lost. As fiendish forces inched closer to victory, the celestial army backed down, unwilling to risk m ore losses. Refusing to comply, to give up the place she had spent an existence protecting. Basandra stayed behind to aid her mortal allies until the end. Only a messanger and a scout, Basandra turned her full attention to protecting those she could, and stemming the tide of devils and demons as best she could. And slowly, bit by bit, miracle by miracle, she turned them back. Seeing Basandra's success, other celestial's moved to join her cause, and the world Basandra loved narrowly scraped by, saved in the end by a rouge angel. For working against orders, Basandra was stripped of her title and cast down. But for her bravery and hope, she was unofficially promoted to the rank of seraph, and order to forever remain and protect the world she loved.
