blade of the skies
Given many names over the passing of the ages, the "blade of the skies" or "torch of fury", as is the translation of this one name, was given to the sword of Lillian, one of the spirits that came to the aid of the mortal races during the Great Demonwar.
After that war was over, some of the spirits chose to lay down their weapons at a safe place where they would rest until such day as they would be needed again.
The weapons where then first safeguarded by the light elves of the Belt, also known as Elmarahir and later by a human group, the woodland people of Elmarahir.
This sword and the other weapons where kept at the Grey Fortress, a castle sitting on the highest peak of the Belt, built by the high spirits before their leaving.

Significance
The myth about these celestial weapons was always widely spread. Many believed that one who was worthy would one day pick up one of the weapons and wield it in battle, ending the neverending war against the demons and unite the mortal races. This one sword in particular was believed by many of the guardians to be the one that would be wielded, as its light shone ever brightest.
